Ides of March 2011.
Only 54% of the delegates at the BMA SRM voted in favour of the BMA continuing to negotiate with the Government in "support" of the current Health and Social Care Bill.
Hardly a vote of confidence.
Surely now is the time for the Government to step back from the brink, realise that their medical advisors, employed over the past decade in formulating this dreadful bit of legislation, should step aside and hand over to those who have not been tainted by the private agenda and whose wisdom has been gained from decades of frontline experience.
This new blood would therefore be better fitted to serve the best interests of both patients and taxpayers.
